I started yourchitect in June 2008 in an ambitious attempt to bring everything related to home design together in one place.

From defining what you want in a home, to choosing an architect, to finding all of the things you need to buy, to managing your entire project online.

From tips on picking an architect to tips on how to insure your marriage survives a three-year renovation.

From stories about green design to “how to” projects that you really “can do”.

From a monthly piece that honors the great architects of the past, celebrates the best of today and identifies the future giants of tomorrow, to a blog that’s your place to share ideas, product finds and stories.

Now, in this changing landscape, it seems more right than ever.

Many of the sources we all relied on for inspiration and information, magazines and their websites, are disappearing. Every day new, stimulating and useful blogs are appearing. The current economic realities are fueling a level of inventiveness and resourcefulness in architects and designers that is truly mind-numbing. And the universe of manufacturers and retailers is expanding across all global boundaries, making our shopping choices richer but infinitely more complicated.

Our mission is to serve as your editor and help you make sense of it all.

In short, to be your homepage of homedesign.

Enjoy.
